December 2009 update

We decided to start a new tradition for our family by celebrating St. Nicholas Tag (Day) and Christmas. The Santa Claus stuff we do on December 6th (or on the 5th this past year because the 6th was on a Sunday), and the celebration of Jesus' birth we do on the 25th.
The girls seemed to really enjoy it this way (maybe because they got presents a couple of weeks early). I overheard Eden mentioning this new tradition to a friend, and she said something to the effect of "We're not getting presents on Christmas this year, we're giving gifts and love, and it's fun."

We also had a lot of fun celebrating Elise's 4th birthday.

Eden has been taking violin lessons, and she got to participate in a little orchestra recital. Email us if you want audio or video footage.

We had some warm weather that the girls enjoyed playing in, and we had some cold weather that the girls enjoyed playing in.

Sara made a verrry rich Grasshopper (mint chocolate) brownie cake for Eden's birthday.

November 2009

I am going to attempt to get caught up on the blogging thing. To accomplish this I will simply go through out photos and throw in a few for each month along with a little blurb.
We gathered lots of leftover pumpkins, cooked 'em, and froze 'em. We've made casseroles, pies, muffins, and we still have several quarts still in the freezer. The girls had fun helping in the early stages of the project.

One of the things that makes Columbia a great place for families is the parks. This is Capen Park, one of my new favorites. We can bring the dog, let her off leash, and go hiking in the woods. This picture was taken the day after Thanksgiving.
